Bio
Neil Swaab is a New York based artist, designer, and writer. His illustrations and comics have appeared in numerous publications in the US as well as abroad in Germany, Prague, Australia, Russia, and Italy. Neil's work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Print Magazine (also featured in their New Visual Artist Review), and American Illustration. His acclaimed weekly comic strip, Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles, currently runs in Real Detroit Weekly, Internazionale (where it is translated into Italian), Mercury, The Badger Herald, and New Times Broward-Palm Beach. His comic work has been collected into two books: Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles Vol.1 (2002) and Attitude Featuring: Neil Swaab, Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles (2005), with a third due out sometime in 2008. There is also a new Italian language collection being published by Fusi Orari in Italy collecting all of his work in Internazionale and a Russian edition of Vol. 1 being published by Comics Factory in Russia due out later this year. Recently, Neil illustrated his first book for young readers, Yet Another NASTYbook, written by Barry Yourgrau and published by HarperCollins. Neil has guest lectured at Syracuse University (where he got his BFA in Illustration) and the School of Visual Arts and is currently an instructor at Parsons School of Design in the Illustration program. As a designer, Neil served as the Art Director for Joanna Cotler and Laura Geringer Books, two prestigious imprints at HarperCollins Publishers and now freelances for various clients.
