Little, Brown – Recent Work
Starting next week, I’m going to be returning to Little, Brown to fill in for another designer out on maternity leave for the next three months. In honor of that, I thought I’d post some recent covers I did for them. The first ones are I’ll Be There and Sweetly. I’ll Be there, I illustrated and designed, but the cover was, sadly (sniff, sniff) killed [UPDATE: Unkilled!]. Sweetly, I just did the illustration.
I also did the illustrations and designed the covers for the repackages of the Lois Duncan series of horror books which was super fun. Jennifer Heuer did the awesome hand-lettering.
I did, I think, about four or five more covers for them (maybe six?) in the past few months including two Suzanne Selfors books, aonther Lois Duncan book, a Matthew Quick book, and some concepting work on a James Patterson book and will post those as well once they’re back from sales conference and are able to be shared with the world.
In addition to the Little, Brown projects, I’ve been working for HarperCollins on Clive Barker’s latest Abarat book and Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond’s If You Give a Dog a Donut, for Tu Books on the launch of their Galaxy Games series, and for Egmont USA on this lovely book:
All told, I’ve been freakin’ busy! While I’ll be at Little, Brown full-time over the next three months my schedule will definitely get tighter. I will, however, still be taking on freelance illustration and design assignments if they’re something I feel excited about and can work on in my free time. So don’t hesitate to ask if you’re interested. And, if this site isn’t updated for a while, it’s not because I’m not working; it’s probably because I’m working too much. See ya in a bit!
