New site!
Hey there, internet peeps! So, I got me a funky fresh new site here. This semester at Parsons, I have to teach my class to make simple websites that will only take a few weeks to do, so I thought WordPress would be a good platform for it. As such, I had to learn how to use it myself and figured I might as well overhaul my own site at the same time. The ol’ practice what you preach approach.
I’m using a commercial theme for now, which is nice, but is lacking in a few options that I hope will eventually be added when they update. Ideally, it would be nice to have multiple portfolios so I can split up my design and art. But, for now, I think it’s pretty nice and works a ton better than my old site did, which was straight-up html and css. I’m loving having a CMS for the first time in my life.
I’ve pruned out a lot of the portfolio and tried to keep what I thought was the best work. Eventually, when I have time, I’ll create an archive section that will just be an image dump of all the work I’ve done that’s not in the main portfolio.
For anyone who was following me through an rss reader, please note that the old feed is dead and there is now a new one that integrates with the WordPress blog. Also, please note that any text links in the blog from previous entries before this one will most likely not work anymore as those pages probably no longer exist.
With WordPress now fully integrated into the site, I do hope to blog more as time allows. I’ll definitely be pretty busy the next few weeks, but hope to get started soon!
